So as his loving wife, I was really excited for Dave's friend Jesse (equally a stranger to fun lately) to come for a visit. This was going to be their chance to remember what it's like to run care-free and kid-free (well, kid- free at least 50% of the time. I mean, I'm only human).
And they did have fun, I mean, I think. Then two days before Jesse caught a plane home, they decided to roam around some of the beaches south of Sydney. Four hours later they came home, both sunburn, Dave limping, and a wedding ring at the bottom of the sea. The details are a little foggy ( I may not have been listening too well) and Dave is more than welcome to fill 'em in (or even respond with a rebuttal). But I believe there was a cliff, some kids diving off it, and some less than sound reasoning our boys' part.
The picture above is of Dave's foot before I, a doctor, and then a surgeon all took a go at the quills. He's doing fine now and on heavy antibiotics. Apparently, the surgeon was a bit skeptical about my using an earring, cutical cutter, and tweezers as tools. Doctors can be so hoity-toity.
